Catsitter for Three Days

I was assigned by my younger sister to catsit her grown kitten yesterday. It will start tonight and take for three days.

That small cat is named Tiger Lily. She is a female cat that is too playful and naughty. Maybe because she's still a kitten. Everyone in the house entertain while watching and taking care of her. Don't get me wrong, even if I'm a man, I like cats too. Tiger Lily enjoys clawing and biting everything she thinks playable. She bites and claws us even our hands but don't worry it's not serious as what you think. She never bites deeply but only wants our attention be directed to her.

As of now, she is sleeping peacefully and I'm thankful for that. Despite I can't move freely and be in a front of our computer, I can still write on traditional notebook. I can use my netbook anytime but the computer router needs to be cooled down.

Anyway, I hope I can handle Tiger Lily while my sister is away. It's my duty to guard her at night and my older sister will look for her at morning and afternoon. Tiger Lily, you should cooperate with me coz I don't want my new routine being disturbed and messed up.

Alcohol or Hand Sanitizer?

We need either of these two to disinfect germs from our hands. But each of us have their own preferences when it comes to things we love. So I'm going to ask you this: which do you think is the most effective in killing germs, an alcohol or hand sanitizer?

Alcohol is commonly seen in the hospital. The primary use of it is to remove germs from infected utensils and others. It can also use to fully disinfect germs from our hands. I don't care about the strong scent because they're all smell the same. Besides, alcohol contains either ethyl or isopropyl in every bottle you purchase so you should be aware of it. It can be 40 or 70% solution which tells us how concentrated the alcohol content is inside the bottle. It also determines the effectiveness of it in killing germs. Some of the alcohol manufacturer added moisturizer to prevent your skin getting dried after you use their alcohol. As we can see, as years go by, alcohol improves in many ways.

Hand Sanitizer from the words itself, is used primarily on hands. It sanitizes and cleanses our hands from germs. It's like a hand soap or fragrant lotion that you put on the palm of your one hand and start rubbing with another hand. I don't know but it seems like I am unfair on the comparison I am doing because alcohol has many uses while hand sanitizer is obviously for hands only. But if we compare them only in the thing they are similar, hand sanitizer wins over alcohol. Why? Because most people prefer the former when the scent is the matter. They like smelling its fragrance and know to themselves that their hands are germ free.

I'm sure this discussion intrigues you a little. But both of them are a must have stuff. Who among of us want to get sick? I'm sure nobody wants except a kid. Anyway, I use hand sanitizer at work but I always bring an alcohol with me because I feel safe and comfortable when using it. Besides, whenever I like to have clean hands (after having a physical contact on public objects), all I can do is to bring out my alcohol from my backpack and use it. So, I am asking you again: which of the two is the most effective in killing germs, an alcohol or hand sanitizer?

13 Articles In The Month Of September

I didn't even expect that I could write 13 articles in a row last month (September 2012). I was surprised upon counting them and made me feel accomplished at all. Maybe it's because I don't have 9-5 hours work anymore (sshhh... actually I was a night shiftee before. I worked in graveyard shift).

Do you think I can exceed more than that if I write everyday? This month of October, I plan to write more and will make my number of articles reach 100 (right now, I have 66 on my belt in Squidoo).

Writing became my hobby and passion which I discovered only this year. I enjoy writing before and I used to write and compose poems, write thoughts in my journal, translate them into words and put my observation into papers.

Sometimes while doing things we like, we are being struck by laziness and procrastination but when you have clear goals and continuous motivation as well as inspiration, you can easily get back on the track and continue what you have started. Don’t let yourself being distracted of things around you. If you get bored, take a break and leave everything as is. Once your mind is clear and fresh, you can continue what you left before.

Squidoo site is one of the tools I use to earn money online and that's where I put my time right now. I write various lenses there and I hope my efforts would pay off. It's now 7 years in the internet and I hope they will exist more years or possibly forever.

That's all I can say. I hope you enjoy reading this column and wish me write more articles this October.

PDIC Increases Deposit Insurance Coverage to ₱1 Million

I recently discovered that the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has increased its Maximum Deposit Insurance Coverage (MDIC) from ₱500,000 to ₱1,000,000. This change, which took effect on March 15, 2025, provides depositors with enhanced financial protection.

Under this new coverage, depositors can rest assured that, in the unfortunate event of a bank failure, PDIC will guarantee the return of up to ₱1,000,000 per depositor, per bank. For instance, if you have ₱150,000 saved in a bank that goes bankrupt, your entire deposit is covered, ensuring you won’t suffer a financial loss.

This update is great news for Filipino depositors, reinforcing trust and stability within the banking system. It’s always important to stay informed about financial policies that directly impact us—knowledge is power, especially when it comes to securing our hard-earned savings.
