English Is My Second Language: How Do I Improve It?

I will be honest to you that I'm not proficient in speaking English but I can write with it though not like an expert or professional one. We have a subject of it here in our educational system (Philippines) and required to learn it since they coined it as international language.

I also use it esp. in my online writing sites so I get a wide scope of audience. Since, I am earning money from it and English is the language I use, I am thinking on how I can improve it in order to make my writing more understandable, readable and effective. I know a blogger who is not an english man that earns 4 figures a month. He is a chinese man named John Chow. I enjoy reading his works on how he made money online. If he can, I can.

I think the answer for this is to read lots of work. Works of other good and great writers. Of course, how can you improve it if you don't write everyday. Practice writing as many as you like. One of the tools I use is ExpertsColumn and this is where I sharpen my writing skill. Express yourself here and don't forget to use English as medium to communicate with other people. It can make you feel comfortable as you use it.

Lately, I just got to know that other people can read three books in a week. That is awesome! I didn't know that it was possible until I read her status in Facebook newsfeed. I am impressed after knowing it. Besides, she is 5 years younger than me.

I hope my English grammar in terms of writing and speaking will get better as time goes by.

I hope you like it. By the way, I forgot to ask you the same question: Is English your second language too or your main tongue? I want to know your answers too by leaving your comment below. =)
