Whenever someone asks me to name the 7 colors of the rainbow in sequence (order), I use the acronym I learned when I was a child.
ROYGBIVRed
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet
That's it! You don't have to memorize those colors in mind. Just remember the acronym and you're good to go.
