Do You Believe In New Year's Resolution?

Every first day of the year, people get used to New Year's Resolution stuff. They tend to list all the bad things they want to change, including the habits they did in the past. I don't know why it only happens whenever a new year comes. Actually, people can change anytime (but be sure it is for the good and you must be serious in attaining it) without a specific day in mind. I think it becomes part of people's to do list every year.

Anyway, I think it seems that they use it as an excuse because they can change or do the things listed on their New Year's resolution for a short period of time and then get back to their old routine. It is as if they're fooling around, taking everything as a joke and deceiving themselves in the first place. Just like what I said, people can change if they really want, regardless of what day or time. But remember full change takes time and gradual steps just to reach the desired want. We cannot say that today we want to get rid of our bad attitude and expect it to happen immediately. We are humans and not robots that follow every input we received. We have our own thinking and judgmental mind that tells us which is right and which is wrong. We, in ourselves, are the one who can tell what we need to acquire.

My final message is there is nothing wrong in keeping your list of new year's resolution as long as you put them into action and make it as your lifetime attitude. Of course, if you see that there are things you need to improve upon, you are free to do so as change is one of the constant things in this world (aside from time and God). Besides, it becomes part of human life so it's understandable. The only point I want you to understand is change doesn't choose the time or day. It can occur anytime. I hope it makes sense. Happy reading!

Do We Need to Set Up Christmas Tree When Christmas is Near?

I don't think so if setting them out is necessary, all I know is it becomes a traditional act of every Christian around the world. They get their Christmas tree out of the storage room or box (others purchase a new one) and set it up either in or out of their house. Expect it to see when BER months arrive (September, October, November, and December. Sometimes, you’ll even see it on January and February). It's also the same on Christmas lanterns and lights that we commonly see hang up and decorated on the wall of every house.

But the question is do we really need to have them set up in our house especially this coming Christmas? I think it does not really matter whether we set it up or not, as long as we never forget the meaning of Christmas: Gift-giving, attending the night masses (Simbang Gabi) and the like are the things we should continuously do during and after Christmas. Besides, it is the thought that counts and the presence of our loved ones. It doesn’t matter whether you haven’t received a new toy or gift, even if there are no delicious foods on your table or anything else because that is not the spirit of Christmas. The quality time we have together with our family and friends are the most important of all.

Above all, Jesus Christ is the center of it and the reason why we should celebrate Christmas. But it's not only in Christmas we must do the above acts because honestly, every day can be Christmas for each and every one of us. Share your love with people endear to you, and it will surely be recognized by them. Smile and the world will smile back at you.

Build Up Your Portfolio And Earn From It In The Future

I am currently reading a book and always see this advice, "Build up your portfolio and you will eventually earn from it in the future". It's like planting a seed where you put your full attention. You will water and tender it, making sure that no grass grows beside it or worms live on it and above all, it gets enough sunlight. And I assure you, you will reap its fruits just like the benefits you will get from your income-generating assets (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) and written articles.

I noticed that my efforts paid off and continue building up my income. I write and write while a passive income comes in. It keeps accumulating. Before, the only source of income I knew was from the salary I got from 9 to 5 hours of work. But after I discovered this legitimate way of earning, it adds up to my income. I didn't believe that it was possible. I was a skeptic person back then. I also started building up my portfolio (assets) in mutual funds despite others say that we, young investors, should invest in risky investments. The reason why they urge that is because young people have more time to invest. If ever we got bankrupt and failed, we can easily recover, stand up and get back on the track unlike older people. But I decided to go first in the mutual fund to get the taste of it before I try the very risky one (like stocks).

Anyway, I'm happy that I get paid every month by the sites I write on. Squidoo pays me. Sirgo pays me. And ExpertsColumn pays me as well (those sites paid me before). I love the feeling of getting money from these sites because I feel I am doing the right thing and using my time properly. I don't want to focus my time tending one business only because I learn that to get rich, we should work smarter, not harder. Learn to build up your portfolio and earn from it in the future.
